Het merk komt uit Itali\u00eb en is opgericht door de gebroeders Maserati. Itali\u00eb staat bekend om haar exclusieve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.passionwithoutlimits.com\/nl\/sportautos\/\">sportauto\u2019s<\/a> zoals Ferrari en Lamborghini. Als u aan iemand vraagt of ze een Italiaans automerk kennen dan zal diegene in negen van de tien gevallen dan ook Ferrari of Lamborghini noemen. Oorspronkelijk zijn de gebroeders Maserati begonnen met het bouwen van raceauto\u2019s. E\u00e9n van de broers Maserati nam namelijk deel aan autoraces en daar had hij een auto voor nodig. Aan het begin van de jaren zestig is Maserati begonnen met het bouwen van auto\u2019s voor de openbare weg. Het automerk stond in die tijd namelijk aan de rand van een faillissement en het was noodzakelijk om de focus te verleggen. Bij Maserati begreep men heel goed dat ze het met raceauto\u2019s alleen niet zouden gaan redden. Daarom werd de focus verlegd naar het bouwen van sportwagens. De fraaie techniek onder de motorkap en de elegante vormgeving maken het een gewilde auto.
